This parish church has its origin in an old chapel, dedicated to Santa Eulalia de Mérida, which was located in Turiellos (former name of the Langrean district of La Felguera). With the demographic increase that the steel industry brought with it, it was decided to increase the temple at the end of the 19th century. The resulting church was damaged during the October Revolution of 1934 and was completely destroyed after the civil war.
José Ramón Valle Lecue carried out a first project, presented in 1940, for the reconstruction of the church, which was finally discarded. The current church, inaugurated in 1954, is the result of a project carried out by José Francisco de Zuvillaga y Zuvillaga.
