Old parish church, deconsecrated since 2008, designed by Ignacio Álvarez Castelao in 1944 for the industrial port of San Juan de Nieva, so that port workers could attend worship.
The use of the parabolic arch and vault, which give the nave the appearance of an inverted ship's keel, refers to Catalan modernism, Spanish modernism and pre-Council Latin American religious architecture, such as the Immaculate Conception of Monterrey and the Cathedral of Chillán.
It also has decorative elements of a historicist nature such as the decoration of its façade, which is presented as a reworking of the Baroque language, keeping similarities with the Baroque Galician plaques.
